Sponsorship

This major conference offers exclusive promotional opportunities to organisations interested or involved in the adult and children’s services sectors. If you are, or want to be, a supplier of social services, educational or related products to public, private and voluntary sectors, the 2011 national conference represents a unique and exciting opportunity to raise your profile. It offers access to more than 1,000 local authority members, senior officers, policy makers and service managers.

The event will be a major marketplace for business, lobbying, pressure and voluntary groups. In addition, sponsorship offers your organisation the chance to promote itself to the largest, most prestigious adult, children’s services and education audience of the year.

Trimega Laboratories

TrimegaLabs logo

Established in London in 2005, Trimega Laboratories is the European leader in the development of innovative techniques for testing for substances of abuse, with world-class capabilities and research which have become the industry standard. Its core business is laboratory-based analysis of hair samples that provides accurate historical records of alcohol or drugs dependency over a one to twelve month period. In the UK, Trimega’s core clients include family law specialists, law courts and social services.

Trimega has played a lead role in developing its industry and the application it has in child custody cases. On 28 June, a lawyer who had used Trimega evidence won the title of Legal Aid Family Lawyer of the year for her work in keeping a family together. Using dual-marker hair testing technology provided by Trimega Laboratories, the lawyer succeeded in persuading a court that a mother had not been drinking, an outcome that was instrumental in reuniting her with her children. A previous single test conducted by another provider had suggested that the mother had been drinking.

Trimega was the first to market with dual-marker hair alcohol testing, which provides very accurate results. The Society of Hair Testing (SoHT) confirmed in March 2011 that dual-marker testing on hair for alcohol misuse provides accuracy rates of over 94 per cent for false negatives and over 99 per cent for false positives. The SoHT’s consensus was based on analysis of Trimega’s data set of approximately 2,000 dual hair testing samples, the largest of its kind in the world.

Trimega employs nearly 53 people in the UK, South Africa and Germany. Dr Zola Skweyiya, the UK High Commissioner for South Africa, opened Trimega’s £1m state-of-the-art laboratory in Manchester in February this year.

Trimega won the title of Best Use of Technology in the 2008 Barclays-sponsored Startups Awards, and has been on the shortlist for the National Business Awards three years running. Trimega is also one of 25 companies to represent the UK in the 2011 European Business Awards.

Trimega conducts its hair alcohol analysis in laboratories in Germany which are accredited with international standard ISO 17025 by DAkkS, the German issuing authority. Trimega’s UK laboratory in Manchester, which carries out drug tests, operates to ISO 17025 standards, and has ISO 9001:2008 certification from Lloyd’s Register Group, itself accredited by UKAS, for the ‘provision of clinical collecting, testing, analysis and interpretation services for substances of abuse’. In addition, the Manchester laboratory is the only UK laboratory in the industry to have ISO 14001 certification from QMS International, the environmental management system standard for internal quality management. Trimega is also an Investor in People.

My care My home“I need care!” Will the Council or NHS pay for it? Will they advise me what kind of care I need? Will I have to sell my house? What is available in my area? How good is it? Approximately 75,000 people each year face these questions with no ready access to helpful advice.

My Care My Home has been launched to give this advice to anyone who needs expert answers to these questions; freely and in the security of their own home.
